Credit Derivatives Eclipse Bonds As Regulators Fret

The story discusses the substantial growth in credit derivatives volume as well as an upcoming meeting for the dealer
community with the New York Federal Reserve. The story indicates that the amount of notional outstanding in CDS at the end
of 2004 was $6.4 trillion, surpassing that of equity-index related products by 50%. Volume in trading continues strong this
year, and CDS index trading is especially strong . Grant Biggar, head of Creditex Europe, is quoted as saying that volume
may double this year compared to that of 2004.
